Medaltime won the 8 year medal tender for the Athens Marathon, the Authentic. Based on the Greek roots of Marathon, the Hellenic Athletics Federation decided to depict the history of the sport on the medals of the Athens Marathon. Once the 8 year set has been completed in 2026, on the Marathon’s 130th Anniversary, the engraved letters on the 8 individual medals will spell the world “Marathon”. We are proud to be the official partner of AIMS for unique custom made medals. Of course, we joined the AIMS Marathon Symposium in Athens. A great way to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and to get to know new event organizers.

This year Medaltime took care of the medals for the Berlin Marathon for the first time. The medal was completely ‘Berlin-styled’. The front of the medal is in honour of Lutz Derkow who played such a major role since the marathons inception and the back shows many of all the different buildings you pass by during the marathon. Harmen and Paul were present at the marathon expo and colleague Bart ran his first marathon.

"The vibe was great! Paul and I enjoyed meeting many running friends and race organisers and of course I encouraged my colleague Bart during his first ever marathon. Kenenisa Bekele came so close to a new world record and we watched the millionth finisher, the Canadian Ali Crandall, crossing the finish line. It was a fantastic experience!," Harmen.
